“I can hardly breathe when I try to write this. We were the ultimate in soul mates. I feel both my heart and life have been torn apart. I loved our special talks, our daily chats from where ever you were in the world. I especially loved all the precious time we spent together. We were so fortunate to have you as long as we did. You were so many things to so many people, but to me you were just my little brother. There will never, ever be another “Heath” and I think that in itself is the greatest tragedy. I will continue to talk with you everyday and love you just as if you were here. You will never leave my thoughts ‘Roast’, ever.” (Roast was her nickname for him)

It's really great they had such beautiful things to say about him. Heath was loved by many and will be missed but not forgotten.

Over in CNN.com's Technology section, there's a story about a US Marine, Lance Cpl. Joshua Bleill, who lost both his legs from a little above the knees when his Humvee drove over an exploding bomb on October 15, 2006. In most cases, a patient will be fitted with prosthetic limbs coming from any of the several state of the art models out on the market. Bleill, though, is one of two US Iraq war veterans that are using Bluetooth equipped prosthetics.

Bleill's artificial legs are computer and Bluetooth powered to allow each limb to coordinate with the other to properly activate the motors and "joints" to move and propel in a way that attempts to mimic more natural leg movement.

Bleill's set of prosthetics have Bluetooth receivers strapped to the ankle area. The Bluetooth device on each leg tells the other leg what it's doing, how it's moving, whether walking, standing or climbing steps, for example.

"They mimic each other, so for stride length, for amount of force coming up, going uphill, downhill and such, they can vary speed and then to stop them again," Bleill told CNN from Walter Reed Army Medical Center, where he's undergoing rehab.

"I will put resistance with my own thigh muscles to slow them down, so I can stop walking, which is always nice."

This is what I love about technology and design. The idea of expanding technology and its applications to work in everyday life rather than using it for the sake of using it...brilliant.

DWS'S WINTER WONDERLAND GETS RAINDED ON ....

Director Andrew Gallery and Actor Colin Branca showed up to the DWS Scudder climate change on Via Rodeo Drive. When we arrived, the ski village that was designed to bring awareness to the potential impact of the earth's climate change was ruined by the rain. I think it was a perfect example of climate change. DWS wants to show that there are alternate investment opportunities to take on.



DWS Climate Change Fund is on the cutting edge of climate change investing as one of the first open-ended mutual funds which seeks to invest in U.S. and foreign companies involved in climate change adaptation and mitigation, or whose growth is supported by increased environmental regulation. Eew I have a feeling that I'm going to have to buy snow chains next year just to go shopping in Beverly Hills. Nobody wants to hear that. HEATH LEDGER, ACCIDENTAL DRUG OVERDOSE ...

Heath Ledger was found dead in his Manhattan apartment. Sources say it was from a accidental drug overdose. He was found by his housekeeper around 3:30 pm ET.

Heath was 28. My condolences go out to his family and friends. Heath was a very talented actor and he will be missed.

Heath has a 2 year old daughter, Matilda Rose, with former fiancee Michelle Williams.

Heath was recently in London filming The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.

Britney seems to be getting it together. Britney gets a driver Saturday night. Then the next day goes to PETCO. Later that night, Britney was seen leaving Millennium Dance studio. Monday, Britney visits the office Kevin Federline's lawyer. This is the most productive we've seen Brit Brit be in an while. I hope this is a permanent change.

Beach bunny Pamela Anderson chose Miami beach over Park City's bunny slopes. January 18th Pam hosted the 3rd anniversary of Pangaea Nightclub in Hollywood, Florida... In Alabama, my sister said that a local radio station, WKMX 106.7, was having listeners call in to say how Britney was going to kill herself. Nobody wants to hear that! Talk about taking a few steps back as human beings. This is just like the days when they would tar and feather people. So before you get all happy thinking this might be the day Britney offs herself, take a good look at the people you love, and how awful it would be to not have them in your life...



Wow I just got really sentimental. Wow I should really go on a walk. I know, I'm gonna hold a walk run for Britney. Its gonna start at the Starbucks on Roberston and Beverly and we will walk/run to all the Starbucks from West Hollywood to Westwood. It's a walk for LIFE people! Who's with me?
